Friendship

In this post I just want to express my views on the very special bond which is always close to my heart "FRIENDSHIP".

FRIENDSHIP

My definition of a Friend is .."Someone to share all my  emotions"...
For me Friendship is somewhat like this ... You meet a person, like him/her, find some common interest, interact with each other, realize a deeper understanding - bond is formed.

Man is a social animal. From childhood we make friendship with different people at different stages of our life.

Most of us remember our first friend in school. At primary school I was very shy and quiet and didn't make friends easily. One day Dipesh came up to me and asked if I wanted to play and  that was it..we were friends all our school life...
With Gods grace we landed up in the same college and graduated together. We are best of friends.

The meaning or importance of Friendship differs with our age.
In childhood, a friend may be someone who sits besides us in the class, who shares chocolates, tiffin, pencil, who plays with us. Yeah! the same one who willingly eats your Mom's paratha’s from your tiffin as you eat his.

In adolescence, a friend may be someone who shares the same interests, who will not study and won’t let you study till the day before your exam, who understands us, who accompanies us in all our mischief’s, fights with us and most importantly settles the differences in the very next moment.

As we grow older, a friend may be someone who is there in all our good and bad times, whom we know will support us no matter what, and with whom we can share the smallest details, dirtiest secrets of our lives and still don’t feel embarrassed about it.

Friendship is not something you learn in school. We are never taught how to make friends, or how to behave with friends, it just comes along. A friend is someone who gives you total freedom to be 'Yourself'. In fact the best of friends don’t get offended when you insult them.

Friendship has always been depicted wonderfully in Movies .The first film that comes to mind when we think about friendship is of course Sholay. The bond between Jai and Veeru is legendary.

From Sholay to Dil Chahta Hai, Rock On, Jane Tu Ya Jane Na, New York, 3 Idiots, Zindagi Milegi Na Dobaraa... the list goes on... Each and every movie on this plot has been successful in catching attention of the  audience, because somehow we relate to these characters.

Not to forget the popular sitcoms which have entertained us through years,     Hip Hip Hurray, Hum Paanch, F.R.I.E.N.D.S, Seinfeld and so on...

Different types of friends exist, each being unique!...
I would call it  the "BREED" of friends... here are a few :

i) The Party Animal  :

This friend will call you anytime, and the only thing he/she cares about is Party!
A party for everything, perhaps no reason required... may  be ready for a party even if you are screwed!...
You need such friends to enjoy life!

ii) The Funny one :

A friend who has a funny bone!, Ready with jokes and witty comments which makes you laugh and forget all your worries.

iii) Agony Aunt Kinda Friend :

This friend will be your 'Agony Aunt' , the only one whom you can think of when you need an advice about any damn thing.

iv) The LOVER BOY (THARKI Friend):

The friend who falls in Love with someone in every 2 months and you are used to his THARKINESS.

v) The Cribbing Friend :

A Friend who always cribs about everything and everywhere.

vi ) The Friend you can count on :

You share your  happiness with everyone but this friend will always be there to share your sorrows.
You have been friends since you were little, you may even refer to this person as brother or sister.

Friends will always be important part of our lives, just as our family. I do believe in the saying "Friends are the siblings God forgot to give us”.

If you have a friend with whom you had a fight or who is not on talking terms with you, take the initiative in resolving the conflicts no matter who was the culprit. It takes years to build a strong bond and few moments to lose it. Life is too short to have grudges.

I would like to sign off with exquisite words by Oprah Winfrey:
Lots of people want to ride with you in the limo, but what you want is someone who will take the bus with you when the limo breaks down.

Ye Hai Mumbai Meri Jaan!

This is my very first attempt to write a blog. This was due since ages !

Here goes my first post...

                   'Ye Hai Mumbai Meri Jaan'

It has been a year and a half  in a place full of energy  called "MUMBAI". I don't know a lot about Mumbai, but just enough to post about it. I started my Career from Mumbai. Coming from a small town called 'Nagpur' , my very first visit to  Mumbai to which I was an absolute stranger was indeed difficult. To be honest, it was a mixed feeling when I got my job location. I was excited, happy,  a little nervous and apprehensive all at the same time. Like most of the people coming here for the first time I cribbed about the city initially.

This post is basically for those who think Mumbai  is not an ideal place to live in, or for those who think this city is way too crowded to survive. This post is my token of love to the "CITY OF DREAMS" as they say.

When you move to a city like Mumbai, first thing people ask you "Life is very fast there , isn't it?".
I don't know why people ask that. Office, College, School timings in Mumbai is same as in the other cities. Then why tag the city of being "FAST". I have to travel from my home to Station by auto , then  board a local train and finally a Taxi to office. Its not only my story, majority of my colleagues do the same. But again, that doesn't make the city "Fast". The only thing is the city keeps you on your toes!. You have to plan out things you have to do.

Then you have people saying 'Mumbai is too crowded ya'. I just wonder , which metro city isn't crowded?.This city fulfills the dreams of many , if not all. You have people coming from all parts of the country to Mumbai. The city doesn't disappoint !, it has something or the other for everyone.

Awesome food, the pubs, the clubs, the bars, the solace of walking during the rains at Marine Drive, the pleasure of holding hands with your partner and enjoying a romantic evening at Juhu Chowpatty, Mumbai has given everyone something to crave for.

Needless to say, I am in Love with this city, and I feel blessed having got an opportunity to live here.
That's about it,  My overwhelming experiences can continue, for now I wish you farewell..
